United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia had organized a 4 days Faculty Development Programme from 27th – 30th Sep 2016 at Union Christian College, Umiam Khwan, Meghalaya. The resource persons were Dr. Jeyakar Chellaraj and Dr. Radha Mohan. We the two faculty members, Fatima Lepcha, Dept. of History and Sulata Mukhia, Dept of Education from Salesian College, Sonada participated in the said programme.

Dr. S.R Lyndam, Principal of UCC, chaired the inaugural programme by giving away the welcome speech. The first session on “Effective Teaching” begun at 11:30 am by Dr. M. Spurgeon, Regional Programme consultant, United Board. The Second Session on Teaching Methodology started at 2:00 pm by Dr. R. Mohan followed by ‘Micro Teaching” in the third session. On 28th Sep 2016 Day 2 Dr. J. Chellaraj instructed on the ideas of classroom challenges and Management. The Second half of day 2 was well spent by visiting Shillong peak.

At the end of the workshop, the NSS coordinator concluded the programme with the words of appreciation and congratulated all the volunteers for their hard work. The programme officially came to an end with an NSS clap.

The entire participants of F.D.P were divided into 5 groups, each group had to present Micro teaching practices on day 3, 29th Sep 2016. For prayer session and dinner the participants were taken to UCC Campus.

On the last day of the programme on 30th Sep 2016 Dr. J. Chellaraj started the morning session with communication skills. The session was followed by Valedictory programme chaired by Dr. A. Malhotra joint project co-ordinoator, summation of the programme was done by Dr. M. Spurgeon, Valedictory remark by Dr. J. Chellaraj. After Distribution of certificate Mr. B.L Mawlong, project Co-coordinator closed the programme with vote of Thanks.
